Ha Su-hyeon at REXTREME 2026

Winning the REXTREME 2026 women’s team of three — and the balance in transitions DARIMATI proved

August 1, 2026, Suwon Convention Center.

More than 1,600 athletes gathered for REXTREME, a hybrid race held in Korea. With running and functional movements alternating throughout, tension filled the air before the start, and across the venue athletes kept pushing past their limits right to the finish.

On that stage, Ha Su-hyun took 1st place in the Women's 3-Person Team division wearing the DARIMATI BR-001.

As a brand, we were thrilled by the win itself. But what mattered even more than the result was the kind of race it came from.

At REXTREME, running well alone
won't win you the race

In a typical running race, speed is everything. REXTREME tests athletes in a completely different way.

Burpees, box jumps, medicine ball throws, then running again with a sandbag on your shoulders. One movement follows the next with no time to catch your breath, and you have to keep moving with your heart rate at its peak.

Running ability matters, but how smoothly you link one movement to the next is what decides your time. That's why REXTREME is less a running race and more a race of transitions.

Not the fastest running shoe,
but the most balanced one

DARIMATI BR-001 at the venue

When we developed the DARIMATI BR-001, energy return wasn't our biggest concern. Instead, we kept asking ourselves:

  • Will it hold up if you suddenly drop into burpees mid-run?
  • Will your foot stay steady when you change direction fast?
  • Will it flow naturally right through to the moment you start running again?

Anyone who does both running and functional training has felt this dilemma. Running shoes are light and fast but feel unstable at the stations. Training shoes are stable but feel heavy on the run.

We wanted to make a shoe that sits somewhere in between. A hybrid running shoe that balances stability, grip and energy return.

One comment from race day
was our biggest feedback

The moment of transitioning from a station back to running

After the race, Ha Su-hyun said:

The grip and responsiveness were both great, so I could move with stability even at the stations.

Just one short sentence, but it brought back all the hours we spent wrestling with these questions during development. A good running shoe isn't just about feeling comfortable while you run.

In a hybrid race, every moment of stopping, holding, jumping and running again has to connect as one. No feedback means more than an athlete telling us it felt "stable" in her toughest moments.

Every shoe goes through countless tests. We measure cushioning, check grip and verify durability again and again. But in the end, a hybrid running shoe is judged on race day.

  • Does your foot stay steady even with your heart rate at its peak?
  • Does it respond naturally as you head back out after a station?
  • Does your movement hold together late in the race as fatigue builds?

This win in the REXTREME Women's 3-Person Team division showed that the direction DARIMATI has pursued can deliver in a real race.

The era of the hybrid running shoe

The team in front of the REXTREME leaderboard

Running culture has changed rapidly in recent years. Beyond simply running long distances, more and more people are also taking up CrossFit, functional training and hybrid racing.

If the way we train has changed, our shoes should change too. Not a shoe just for running, nor one just for lifting, but a shoe that connects every movement as one. That's exactly why DARIMATI set out to make hybrid running shoes.

To connect every movement

DARIMATI began with the movement of runners along the Han River. Today, we're expanding into the hybrid stage, where running and functional training come together. This win in the REXTREME Women's 3-Person Team division isn't an ending, but another beginning.

We'll keep listening to more athletes, experiencing more movement, and setting the standard for hybrid running shoes.

We don't promise to make shoes that win races. But when someone delivers their best performance, we want to make the shoe that carries that movement all the way through.
