Coach Lee Sang-hak finished HYROX Incheon 2026 in 1:10 — in the darimati BR-001.
This is the record of Coach Lee Sang-hak, who wore the darimati BR-001 at the 2026 AirAsia HYROX Incheon and finished the mixed doubles in 1 hour and 10 minutes. It was his first race back after a broken ankle.
Last year, Coach Lee was preparing for HYROX Osaka when his ankle fractured. The race was gone. For months, training was out of the question — even everyday movement required caution.
He chose not to treat that time as mere recovery. He treated it as redesign.
When he began his return, the priority wasn’t speed. It was stability. After a fracture, the biggest problem is the wobble at landing — the moment your foot hits the ground and you’re not sure it’ll hold. He needed a shoe that wouldn’t collapse under that uncertainty.
That’s why he chose the BR-001.
What HYROX Demands From a Shoe
For those unfamiliar with the format: HYROX is an indoor fitness race with a standardized global format. One set = 1km run + one functional exercise. Eight sets, back to back.
With 1km of running before each station.
Total running distance:8km.
Here’s why the shoe matters. The surface changes at every transition — mats, concrete, rubber flooring. A shoe has to handle both the speed demands of the running segments and the stability demands of the workout stations. A lightweight racer won’t cut it. A heavy cross-trainer won’t either.
Why the BR-001
The BR-001 is built around a structural principle called Bridge Mechanics™.
Instead of concentrating impact rebound at a single point in the midsole, the design distributes it across the entire shoe structure — the same way a bridge distributes load across its full span rather than bearing it at one point.
The specifics:
• A-TPU midsole + Stable Core™
— Prevents torsional twist at landing. Lightweight with high energy return.
• CPU outsole (Cast Polyurethane)
— Higher durability than conventional rubber. Maintains consistent grip across changing surfaces.
Coach Lee says the structural stability of the BR-001 was the key factor that removed the anxiety left by his injury and gave him the confidence to stand on the course again.
The Race — Mixed Doubles, 1:10 Finish
2026 AirAsia HYROX Incheon. Coach Lee entered the mixed doubles with his partner. They finished the full course in under 1 hour and 10 minutes.
What matters more than the placement is what the number represents: an athlete who had to abandon a race due to a fractured ankle came back and completed it with a competitive time.
“The goal wasn’t a ranking. It was standing on the course again. The BR-001 made it possible to stand at that starting line.”
— Coach Lee Sang-hak
Structure Made the Comeback
The BR-001 was designed for city running — irregular surfaces, mixed terrain, the unpredictable ground of urban environments. But its real proving ground turned out to be HYROX.
Through 8km of running and 8 workout stations, across constantly changing surfaces and movement transitions, the shoe held. Landing stayed stable. The structural integrity built for city streets worked just the same on the demanding indoor course.
An athlete whose broken ankle had forced him off the course stood on it again — in this shoe. He finished in 1:10.
